    Lake Shasta houseboating

I will be leaving for a houseboat trip on Lake Shasta next week (August 29th), and was wondering if anyone knows of "good" coves to stay in on the Pit Arm part of the lake. We are getting the houseboat at the Jones Valley Resort.
I lived in Ohio for most of my life and now live in Oregon, so any help on this would be very appreciated.
Also if anyone has any tidbits on what and what not to do there would be great.
Can't wait to go to "wakeboarding mecca"!!!!!

I would suggest that you go up the McCloud river instead of the Pitt. To many trees in the Pitt. If you go up the McCloud almost as far as you can go, I guarantee you'll have the best water on the lake nearly all day long.
I would recommend taking the Shasta Cavern tour (on the McCloud)You can only reach it by boat. Just the bus ride to the cave opening is worth while. Also there is a Bar/Resort owned by Merl Haggart called Silverthorn Resort. It just up aways from Jones Valley. Great live country-western music on Friday and Saturday nights.
Weather this time on year can be very hot 100- 110 degrees water temp will be around 85 degrees.
    Have a great trip.
