As admitted above, I recently left the straps on but discovered it pretty quickly.

Such was not the case a few seasons ago on a friend's Malibu -- he went in really deep to get it to float (which it finally did, with the trailer). Wind kicked up and drifted the boat/trailer 20-30 degrees almost into the boat on its trailer next to us on the ramp.

It is pretty embarassing when you are "that guy" on the boat ramp.

So it seems we need to get our wives, girlfriends, significant others, life partners, or hetero life mate to learn the phrase PLUGS-N-STRAPS. HAHA!

Gotta give Props to Duncan's wife on this one.

I did it too. I'm glad I noticed when I parked the truck. I Ran down the ramp & popped the plug in underwater. Luckily the bilge kept up the whole time.

This guy left his plug in....all winter and this is what he found in the spring:
We have a cover that goes over the whole boat, tower and all. We try to check on the boat frequently especially when it rains. I guess thats a risk though but it helps us not forget about the plug (knock on wood). Besides this past winter or two we usually dont get much rain in southern california.
