So sorry you had to experience this, but glad and relieved all were OK. Boat and truck are replaceable...with lives we get one go-round.

Hope the insurance company fully reimburses your loss.
So the chains did thier job and kept the trailer from flying away from the truck? Sounds like the other safety measures failed one way or another.

First I am glad that everyone is OK.

Next piece of advice (from experience) is that everyone should go to a doctor and be completely checked for any possible injuries. If you don't do this and 6 months later you have problems you will not be able to substantiate a claim. This is to protect you, and to protect you from the insurance company.

Good luck with the insurance company. If they guy has minimum coverage, which is about 50K in property damage, you will be way over the limit with the other vehicles involved. The insurance will pay no more than the 50K and then the money comes from your insurance company. Good luck with that as it is not an easy battle.

From experience the insurance company will lowball the cost of the vehicles. Do not take their first offer. Do your own research on the WEB and full substantiate the cost to replace. Do not accept their second offer. Stand your ground until you get what you think you are owed. When my Avalon was totalled the first offer was $23K, I held out for $30K which was what the car was worth.

Also the insurance company is required to include the sales tax you would have paid. If they offer you 20K for the truck they need to also include the tax on 20K. Don't forget any registration fees for a new vehicle as the insurance will conveniently forget these items.

Living in the Knoxville TN area I heard about the accident. Makes it a little more personal now.

Wow! Glad you guys are ok! I'm sure that was a crazy feeling/sensation when all of that happened and it probably happened so fast that there was nothing that you could do but just watch. Sorry to see this and hope you guys get it all figured out! I hope the other driver had more than the state minimum insurance values. Good luck!

I'm sick to my stomach for you guys. One of those things you hope never happens to you, but can happen to anybody. Good luck with getting it all resolved.

Thank you all for the kind words! It has been a few days now and Allstate is really doing a great job with the truck and boat. It looks like they will total the truck and boat will be decided Wed.
If the hull is comprimised with cracks, I would imagine it is unrepairable. Everything under the boat (prop, tracking fins, rudder, fresh air exhaust) is all damaged.
Part of me would not trust any major repair work. I think I would feel like I could never trust the integrity of the boat to work like it did.

I do have plans to probably get a new Z1 since it fits our surfing and wakeboard needs. Hey, I finally can clear wake to wake at 22 mph at 220 lbs! How do you give up on a sport at this point?

The driver of the ford mustang has red paint on his driver's door and hood from my trailer. He was going way to fast to run into me when I was going 65. He must have been distracted or not paying much attention!
Sad KY is a no fault state. Sounds like my insurance will have to pay for my vehicles! Only 80,000 dollars worth of equipment!
