Alpha Z vs Vector Tower

I just bought my first Tige. It's a 2011 Z1. I am getting great deal on a demo dealer boat with only 5 hrs on it. The boat has the Vector tower and it seems like they all have the Alpha Z. I will be consistently keeping a wakeboard, surfboard and was hoping that my Sky Ski rack would also fit. Will the Vector hold all of this? Do I need to upgrade? If so, where do I get a use one or one cheaper that 5k? Thank you all in advance!

I thought the Vector tower looked kinda cheap until I saw one in person. It's actually quite nice. It should hold all that just fine so long as you can mount your foil rack on there. I don't think strength is a concern.

Do you have any pics of it? I've never seen a Z1 with a Vector on it.

Is it the Vector tower or the Z series? I would like to see a pic of the vector on a non RZR/R20 too.

You buying the yellow and black Z1 off of EBay? Think it is out of Idaho?I love my Alpha Z tower on my 2011 Z1.. They seem much more sturdy than others.

Here is pic. I feel the same way. Tower looks weak but hopefully it is nice and sturdy. Does anyone know how it compares to a Monster Tower? I had my sky ski rack on a Monster tower and it did ok. Not great but Ok. Also, if I do decide to upgrade to Alpha Z, can I get it with sky ski rack on one side? Still curious where I might be able to get a used or cheaper Alpha Z in case this Vector is no good.

IMPO..you will be fine. We have an R20 at the shop with one and it seems very sturdy. Every bit as sturdy as a monster if not more. Its really kinda nice and I think it looks great on the smaller boats like the Z1 and R20. that is one sharp looking boat and I think you will be just fine with that tower. Its kinda like a less is more to me if that makes sense. It so simple and functional.

I agree, you'll like the tower. I have the same boat with the Alpha Tower and although I love the looks of the Alpha Z tower and the design of it (board racks, bimini setup etc is truly top notch), the big drawback to it that you won't have with yours is the height. I hit my head on the tower (the good smacks actually come from the bimini every once in a while) about every other time I'm out. once you put speakers on the Alpha Z, there becomes no headroom. I'm not a tall guy either (5'10). Besides headroom, the whole point of the tower is for rope height (yes, there are a ton of other benefits) and yours is higher.

The grass may be greener right now but ride in boats with both towers and I bet you'd put them about even in the end as the boat is awesome either way and they both have advantages/disadvantages you'll get used to.
