    Bunk carpet

I have to replace the bunks and the carpet, also. I called EZ-Loader as that's where my trailer is from and They charge $2 per foot. Is all bunk carpet created equal? I want good quality stuff, so I don't mind paying.
    What does everyone suggest?

I just replaced mine and bought the carpet from Home Depot - works and looks great. I don't remember the price, but it wasn't that expensive. Plus, you can get it at the store versus ordering online.

I re-carpeted an old Mastercraft Stars and Stripes years ago and used the Home Depot marine grade carpet. It was actually really decent stuff and held up very well. Make sure to use stainless steel staples.

X2 on the stainless staples. Very important. Regular staples last about a year.

I just bought a 100' X 12" roll for 39 dollars from a place called boat carpet central or something close to that. Very good quality. Sheds water very fast.

I just bought the West marine stuff. I am sure I paid out the nose, but I wanted to be sure to have a high grade carpet, so I just bit the bullet.

I bought West Marine stuff too. I had to get creative with my 2" x 6" bunks. If you have an air compressor I'd highly recommend getting a pneumatic staple gun, my had hurt after stapling both bunks with the traditional spring loaded guns.

Hammer staplers work great. Much cheaper than pneumatic

So now I need another tool for the boat...I see.

How do you try to get the top end of the bolt from spinning while turning the nuts, is there a special type of countersunk hole or do you make sure just to drill the hole slightly small so the threads on the bolt hold it tight. I have a couple bolts on my trailer now that spin freely, and without being able to tear off the carpet, I don't know what I can do to fix this.

Looks like something that someone like me would smash their fingers with, plus, if I can get a power tool out of this project...

I usually just cut mine off with a 4" grider and a cut-off blade... then add new ones when I get the bunk off.

My bunks were put on with lag bolts which I have mixed feelings on.

So what holds the bunks onto the metal trailer?

Nevermind...I guess the lag bolt is inserted from underneath the trailer...Just got to make sure it is short enough and does not go through the wood.
