    Lake Powell Hotels

Does anyone have any experience with hotels in Page, Arizona. We are planning another trip to Lake Powell over Labor Day but want to do it without a houseboat. If anyone has any recommendations on places to stay and maybe where to go from that marina I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks

It depends on what you want to spend. The decent places at the lower price range are the Travelodge and Motel 6. I've heard the Page Boy Motel is also ok, and is actually walking distance to most of the eating places.
On the other end of the scale, the Holiday Inn Express. It's only about a year old and also walking distance to everything in town. We stayed there last year on Labor Day weekend and really liked it.
The Marriott Courtyard is nice, but it's out on the edge of town. A little further walk to everything (I'd probably drive).
The lodge at Wahweep is nice, but pricey.
If you're staying in town and want to go up the lake (like to Rainbow Bridge, etc), launch at Antelope Point. It's on the other side of the narrows, so you don't have to get beat up on your way out and coming back.
We were just there last week for our annual week-long trip - and hated to leave. Have fun and be safe.

My vote goes to the Courtyard Marriott, we've stayed at others and keep ending up back there. You may want to try touching base with Team Allen he stayed in some condos in July while I was there and he seemed to have a good experience. Also try Kens Old West for eats it's a great experience.
My dad always said "Stupid Hurts". He's yet to be proven wrong, but for some reason I keep trying.

Oh yeah. I forgot about the condos. They're located in Greenhaven. They're studio units but have a kitchen and laundry. Parking isn't truck&trailer friendly though.

Yeah, we stayed in a hotel suite/condo kind of situation. 3 bed 2 bath, full kitchen. We had two families staying together and worked for us. I believe it was around $100/night. We have also stayed at the Super 8 Hotel. They had rooms with 3 queen beds. Let me know if you want any further info on either of those and I'll look it up. We also launched at Antilope Point Marina. Make Sure you eat at Strombloli's Italian Restaraunt.

TeamAllen - Where was the 3bed2bath condo located? Might be interesting for our next trip.
Stromboli's is great food. Also try the Mexican place on the main drag (next to PageBoy motel). Huge portions and excellent margaritas

              Team Allen-

I agree with Scootc. If you have any info on the condo place would be great.

              Wing Nut-

So far Courtyard has been our fist choice, those are always great places to stay.

Ok, I'll get the info. for you. I wanted to go to that mexican food place but got ruled out by my two nephews for Chinese Buffet, over by Walmart. I'm not much of a Chinese food lover, but we had a good time. Next time it's that Mexican place for sure!

We stayed once at the Comfort Inn and liked the hotel well enough. There are nice trailer parking spots in back.

My buddy had both a wakeboard and rope stolen out of his boat and I had my CD's stolen. I went to the front desk and let the people know about it and she said: 'Yeah, a few months ago someone had their entire stereo system stolen.' I had locked my wakeboard in the vehicle, but left my GPS in the glove box with my CD's. They didn't take the GPS although it was worth $300 at the time.

I won't go back to the Comfort Inn. I always ask if they have any sort of security. I've stayed at the courtyard Marriott as well, and although they don't have a formal security guard, they reassured me the night crew walks around every once in a while to keep things safe and have had few problems with theft. It also helps that the rooms overlook the parking lot (unlike the Comfort Inn).
                  Be excellent to one another.

Everytime we have stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in other cities with our boat they have always promised that they would keep an eye on the boat and make frequent security walks. Pretty cool thing to do because I think a lot of us lose sleep knowing that our boats are sitting ducks for thieves in the parking lots.
Anyone had any experience with Lake Powell Resort?

We just spent the weekend at the Marriott Courtyard, very nice, just over $ 100 a night. Have gone to the Holiday Inn Express for many years, but not sure whether we will go back because they filled in the jacuzzi with cement. Antelope Point Marina is definately the place to launch if you're going uplake and the water level is too low to get by castle rock passage. Expect some rough water until you get through the rest of the narrows though. I would expect that it could be hard to get rooms for Labor Day.

The other person we delt with is Annette. There is a toll free #, 800-826-2718. Sometimes they will tranfer you, other times, we had to call direct. We had to fill out a form and fax in our registration. It is an unusual situation. It is owned by one of the two Best Western Hotels across the street and basically conected to the Travelodge Hotel. You can walk over and join the Continental Breakfast if you want.

They are kind of old. Not dirty, just older. They had one Master bedroom with a king size bed and connecting bathroom and a sliding door to the outside. There was one other bedroom with one queen bed. The other bedroom is kind of weird it doesn't really have a door for privacy, but has a queen bed. The couch has a bed inside of it, but as most sofa/sleepers go not too comfortable. There is a second common bath near the second bedroom at the end of the hall. The kitchen had a fridge/freezer, oven/range and microwave.

We had a good time with our team of 7. It made sense to use the apartment idea that trip. Splitting the cost, playing games at night and the kitchen helped out with snacks and breakfast. The only negative thing I can think of is the water heater was too small. Two showers, and it was empty. It would heat up again pretty quick though. It's usually hot anyway. I'm sure I probably left out something, so ask away.

The Super 8 Motel AAA rate for 3 queen bed rooms was $72.

TeamAllen - Are these the ones kind of behind the Travelodge (to the South)?

scootc - They are behind the Travelodge. If the Best Western across the street is North then this place is South. There are some dumpy shack things right behind the Travelodge Hotel, that I never figured out. (that's not the apartments I'm talking about) These apartments are three stories high and three units wide. We were on the first floor which made entrance and exit easy. We would just walk to the Traveloge to get some fruit in the morning and a bag of ice from the machine.

Ok. I think I know what you're talking about now. At first I thought it was the dumpy looking place
