I wouldn't buy any boat without driving it and looking over every inch of it. I bet that boat is a repo. TO member Mls bought his 22ve there and it was in great condition, but no test drive would = no sale for me.

Just plan with the salesman for another day to sea trial the boat. You could always put a refundable deposit down to hold the boat until you get a chance to drive the boat and make sure its what you want. Its a shame you are on the West Coast, my 08 24ve is for sale for a tiny bit more, I would take you out all weekend. It does seem kind of wierd that in this market they wouldnt make time for you. If I was still in sales I would be out there with flashlights trying to close the deal?

Be happy to give you a ride on a RZ2, Saturday, but the 22VE is a tad different.

Absolutely do not do that on a used boat.
Even a short warranty is hard to use when you are 6 hours away. If you are spending 45K, You should miss work to get it done on a weekday. On the other hand, tell the dealer how serious you are, and I can't believe they wouldn't work something out. Do all of the paperwork today by fax, test drive tomorrow and use as little of their time as possible.Be excellent to one another.

Maybe try to make arraangements to have the test drive after hours...plenty of daylight right now for that. If it is at Stayton, Detroit Lake is the place where the test drive would be. As another said, Joel seems to be a pretty straight shooter. Yes, sales is #1, but he strikes me as someone who would get you out on the boat. Saturdays maybe very well be busy, just try to make other arrangements with him, which I am sure you have done. I would suspect if you have been in serious negotiations with him on the boat, he will be willing to work something out with you.
Good Luck and hope the deal works out for you.
