Changing Transmission Fluid?

When changing the transmisison oil on a velvet drive, does it make a difference if you pump the oil out thru the fill hole vs draining it out of the bottom plug? It seems a lot easier and cleaner to just pump it out.

Just pump it. So much easier.

I pump it.. then add 1/2 quarts.. then pump that out. Helps flush the junk out of the bottom.
