Get out there early and you can find good water. Rest of the day - plan on tubing! I love LBJ though.

I was up there two weeks ago on my guys weekend with Austin South Side. The best area is up the Colorado like shawn said. It is very busy and rough, but it is a beautiful lake!! Only one guy tried to wakeboard out there that weekend. We basically surfed the entire time. Have fun, great location

Here is a good rental website for housing. We have rented the Sunset Vista home for the last weekend of July. We stayed a Campa Pajama house last year and it was great. Get out early, eat lunch, nap, and then get back out after 5 or 6 once the local day boats start leaving.

When you guys rent houses on LBJ (or anywhere else), do you put your boat in the lift? I worry about the lift not fitting right, so I always tie up.

We use the lift, haven't had any problems. The Campa Pajama has two of them and were great for both boats that went. A 2005 22ve and a 2000 22i.
