    2000 tige 21v info needed

I'm looking at buying a 2000 tige 21v fox racing. I have already read about the tower lacking. He is asking 15000 for the boat but the interior has quite a bit of tears. How much does it normally cost to reupholster the seats? He also took all the stickers off the outside. So how much am I looking at to get the factory decals or can I? Also the taps system isn't working. Thanks for all the help. And I have found this site very helpful already.

First off, Congrats on thinking about buying a Tige! You will love it and be part of an exclusive club as well! I have an 01 21V LTD that I love... bought mine for 22k about 3 years ago... so it sounds like you're getting a pretty good deal. Find out what is wrong with the TAPS and have him take the extra it would cost to fix it off the sticker price... also reupholstery can be extremely expensive... ask for another discount there if NADA shows this boat to be worth only about 16-18K... it could cost up to 3k or more to do the whole boat..

I would plan for 4k (worst case) for the interior. Taps could be any number of small issues, all of which can be fixed. It will be the Bennett system and it is simple and reliable. It would help if you knew what exactly needs to be fixed.

Make sure to water test it. If it runs out well and it's just cosmetic issues and a Taps issue, it could be a diamond in the rough. If he won't put it on the water, walk.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Were taking the boat out today. He has been very straight forward with the problems it has. But how much would the factory stickers be.

I dont think Tige will print them for that old of a design, but you could do your own for way cheaper anyway If you wanted to go back with the originals, you might be able to get the files from Tige and have your local shop print them.

I tried to get decals at one time for my boat and it was a big no-go. No Tige dealer will be able to find them. You can do what chpthril said. I received an estimate of 2500 and no real guarantee of what they would look like.

You could just have the hull cleaned and get some stainless Tige decals like I did and save some cash.

For the TAPS, look under the dash for a little black box which is the relay box. They burn out from time to time and are an easy fix (about $125). If not that, you might have to get a new pump. Like someone else said, it can be fixed without too much angst.

I had our upholstery redone for $2000.

We had everything (all the vinyl) replaced in our 21V last spring, it cost $1800 and it is way better than the factory skins. I had replaced with factory skins before but they never held up.

The TAPS can be as simple as a fuse, to replacing the pump. The most you could be out is around $550.

The FOX decals... just find what you like and have it made. Your boat will be a one of a kind! Make sure that they use 2 mil vinyl. It is much thinner and lasts longer. The thicker tends to get hard and crack.

Lots of 21V here on TO! It's a great hull and weighted right it makes a great wake for wakeboarding and surfing!

$15k seems decent enough. Does it have a good stereo or factory? Does it have Perfect Pass? If it has both of those, I'd say that price tag is good.

                Waiting for another good one!

You can do a 2-side and back wrap for about $1500 to $1700 here in Cali. in any design you wish. If you can dream it, you can wrap it.

On the 21V you can surf ropeless with no ballast at all. Start adding ballast and the wave just builds better. We had quotes from 1500 -2500 on new interior. Went with the 1500 because it was the same material and they did a great job. Look around, people are hungry for business.
