We've had a problem with it bogging down when we take off, but as soon as its put in neutral, its usually fine immediately. Yesterday, when we put it in gear in the "no wake" zone it would start running horribly and sometimes die. When we started it again, it would idle rough and then all the sudden rev up and then be fine. After it revs up and the rpms drop to normal it will run fine until I kill it and start it again. If it dies when it starts idling rough, it takes a few times to start and you can smell gas when its turned over. Any ideas?

Sounds like the same vapor lock issue I was having. Tige has a retrofit fix for it. I have not had anymore problems.Comment

With mine if I let it idle for a few minutes it would be fine. Sometimes it would start and die. Then you could turn the key on and you would here the fuel pump run for about a minute before it would shut off. Other symptoms were just like yours. It could be something else but it sure reminds me of what mine did all last season.Comment
