    Trailering with wakeboards in rack?

Title say it all. Is it ok to trailer the boat to the lake, a 1 1/2 hour trip, with the boards mounted in the racks? Racks would be folded in of course. Does anyone do this or is it better to stow the boards in the boat? Thanks for the input.

I see people doing it, but I never would. Too rough on the boards exposing them to the wind buffeting of highway speeds. Equipment is too expensive to not take the best of care.

I would be less concerned about the condition of the equipment than the possibility of a board somehow coming out at highway speeds and hitting another vehicle or person.

If you want to keep your boards, I would not recommend it.

I wouldn't do it either. If you have as much invested in boards as most of us do, then there is just to much value there. Why risk losing or damaging a board that could ruin the whole weekend for you?

I have done it for the 9 mile trip to the lake, once or twice, but never made it a habit. 40mph all the way to lake, would never do on the highway.

Thanks for the consensus! No boards in racks while trailering is what I will continue to do.

we used to on the 7 mile trip to the ramp until one day I forgot to strap one of the boards down and it fell into the boat (luckily) after that never ever again! Couldn't imagine what I would have to deal with if it fell off let alone fell off into someones car it could kill someone if they were too close.

If it was a short trip like a few miles and less then 40mph ya. Other wise no.

we were behind a Mastercraft coming home last week that had their boards in the rack and swiveled out. Made me extremely nervous until we could get around them on the highway

Same as above for me ... Never on long trips, but I Only live 1/2 mile from the lake so I do t all the time. But anything over 35mph is a no no to much can go wrong

Only Mastercraft owners are that stupid.

A board in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.
