    Filipino House Boat

My son is on a religious mission in the Philippines. He just moved to a new island and took this picture on his boat ride over to the new digs.

Dude on the front looks to be wearing a wetsuit, is he looking to catch a wave?

Looks like a bedroom, open air dining room/kitchen, and a patio...not bad!!!

So when their barrels fill with water, then what do you hold onto as its sinking???!!!

I like, what looks like a door on the other side.

I thought maybe the wetsuit was for diving because there is a water hose on board too. Giant snorkel?

No PFDs in the PH I guess?

A few days ago I saw what appeared to be an old fiberglass fishing hull mated to an ancient Dodge van body. Despite being ugly, it looked like the guy had done a remarkable job on the join line/rub rail - they looked meant for each other.

On the trailer, the outboard engine tilted up and through a fitted hole cut into the (plywood) rear wall of the van body.

I was driving at the time, but sure wish I could have taken a photo.

I'm wondering how long it would last in a Lake Powell windstorm?

Nice that they enclosed the aft restroom for a little privacy....

Probably a family of 6-8 living on it too, count your blessings to be an American and all the opportunities that provides.

They likely couldn't comprehend the idea of being on the water for "just for fun" like we do.

Agreed. I have to laugh when people speak of "poverty" in this country. Compared to some other regions around the world, what we call poverty, isn't.
