Transmision problems on my buddies 2009 Air Nautique

Just got back from a day on the water in my buddies Brand New 2009 Air Nautique that has 13 hours on it. He just picked it up from a dealer that had after a messed up custom boat order. Any way it has PCM tranny, vdrive and 6.0 L engine and we were wake surfing just when I had it in gear and gave it some throttle a subtle pop and the engine rev'd. We tinkered for a little bit tried putting it in gear by hand on the linkage but even that doesn't do anything. Called dealer and we talked with a mech and even tried everything he could think of but no joy. End up with sea tow pull back to the ramp. Everything is covered under warranty but the weekend is shot for him.

I have a 2007 Tige 22Ve and we just wanted to go out on his new boat for the day to try it out. I was just thinking a few hours ago about how I was glad to have a Tige but then again all these engine parts and trannies are common to the Tige line as well. Has anyone ever heard of this problem on any Tige 2009 and up with PCM equipment?

I don't know his outcome, but I'm pretty sure that evil0ne has the 6.0L PCM with closed cooling.

As far as the 2009+ Tige's, I don't recall hearing yet of any failures of this type.

Sounds like the prop popped off the key way due to a loose nut.

I thought that too but on the nautique you can see the drive shaft and it doesn't rotate when the motor revs.

Now that you mention it I remember that post too, my buddies boat is the 6.0L PCM with closed cooling as well. Sounds like the same exact symptoms. I'll get in touch with evilOne and see what the fix was if it was simple It might save my buddies weekend. Thanks guys.
