My 2002 22i cooler was the cats ***. The ice would still be there the next morning even.
Can someone else confirm if the new ones (RZ4 in my case) are insulated? I used it for a couple hours and it seemed fine..
In the grand scheme of things us Tige owners have nothing to complain about in regards to the cooler. Look at the X-Star for example where they've placed it under the back middle seat directly over the transmission! Ice lasts about 45 minutes in there. LOL.
My Z1 only holds ice for a few hours and drinks were warm by the end of the day, of coure we have been hovering around 100 for the last 3-4 weeks? I have been contemplating cutting mine out and putting a sac there for goofy surfers such as myself.

I havent seen the cooler in an RZ4 (or any of the newer boats) but it should be pretty simple to take out. check and see if its insulated! Cant imagine it not being insulated.
Here in AZ (108 degree days...) the cooler on our 02 20V keeps ice for most of the day, keeps drinks cold enough to be refreshing all day long. They arent ice cold if its been a long day, but they sure arent anywhere near room temperature and they are definitely not warm.
