Well, I havent gotten an entire weekend out of this boat since i've purchased it. I bought it mid-winter from a couple states over and was having to take the previous owners word on alot of things. Now Im paying for those assumtions. I knew better but did anyways because it was a good price and i had the fever.

I had the transmission repaired( fwd clutch pack) when I first bought the boat, installed and got about an 20 minutes out of it before I started hearing noises in the trans and something blew out and it was shutting the engine off. I pulled it and sent back to the place that repaired it under warranty. It was a broken snapring this time. I installed again and same behavior. It hasn't completely blew out this time but im hearing the noises already and know it's coming.
Im new to the inboard world but really though I could handle this myself. Apparently I can't. A couple of questions. Could a misaligned engine cause the transmission to blow out this fast? I didn't actually pull the motor when I pulled the transmission, so assumed I wouldn't have to do this task - strike 1, I know it could have been way out of wack when i bought it. Could it have been the shop that rebuilt not doing their job?
I said all this to say I give up trying to do this since i've likely ruined any chance of having the boat in the water this season. Time to turn to the pro's. Anyone know of a good towboat shop in the Charlotte NC area that will sucessfully get me in the water?
