That is exactly what I'm saying. You can feel around and find the perforations. Makes it super simple.

@ajholt7 - The boat is with the dealer getting the bimini installed, or else I would be out there right now snooping around. Is there a lot of debate about using a free air sub vs having one in a box somewhere? Opinions thoughts???

@chpthril - That's a hike for sure, and here I am complaining about the 7-10 hour drive. 2200 miles is roughly 32 hours of drive time.... That's about how many miles it is from Reno to my home downtown of Dayton Ohio.

@NICKYPOO - Glad to see another Northern Nevada guy on here as well! Last weekend was our first time on Lahontan. We typically go to Pyramid, Donner, Frenchmans, or one of the two reservoirs by Truckee. I will keep an eye out the next time we are at Lahontan!

@EVERYONE else - Thanks for the kind words! Last week we only got a taste of what we can expect from this boat. Looking forward to an awesome day on the lake Saturday!

You will definitely get better sound having a box. I don't have a box though and must say I am pleased with the bass I have. Many people have put a sub in the location I am taking about and then built a box behind it. One say I may go that route but for now I'm happy with it.

Ah man, don't put that pretty boat on Pyramid. Next time you are at Custom Boat, ask Rick how he feels about putting your boat on there and what it takes to reverse the adverse affects of that water. Ah, you've been there. You know. It's a bitchin spot if you know where to go but, it's just so tough on a boat. Admittedly, I've had mine out there a few times. It's just so tempting on those dead calm weekday afternoons, 30 min. to the ramp and miles of nice warm, super glass. Damn it, now I wanna go.

We've been hitting Frenchman's quite a bit the last few years. Really nice but really small. Good mid-week spot.

          Same with Boca. Obviously.

I haven't been on Donner in probably 15+ years although I spent a lot of time there as a kid doin laps on my kneeboard.

We'll usually ride Lahontan until it starts turning over Level gets below 110 and then we head for the hills for the rest of the year.

I also ride with a friend on his Tige up at Tahoe from August on. I'm hoping to track down a Moose and his soon to be infamous surf wake this season.

I'm sure I'll see you around. I mostly work from home in Sparks so, I'm around.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Oh ya, build a box for a sub. You'll be amazed what a little 10" sub will do in that boat. If you need help let me know.

@NICKYPOO - I know... I know.... I hear the same thing from everyone I talk to. I feel guilty, but it's just SOOO close. After a day on Pyramid I spray the boat down with a 1/2 and 1/2 mixture of vinegar and water, and then what is left I flush the engine with. This seems to be working. Worked well with my last boat.

I also try to mix it up on where we go so it's not always to Pyramid. It's just a PAIN with all the extra cleanup effort.

I live in Sparks up by the Red Hawk Golf Course just a tad down vista past the Golden Eagle Ball park.

@rushin - We launched at Northshore around 2:30. Hung around there for a bit, then went to the narrows to head to the other side. Got side tracked and just floated for most of the afternoon.

Thanks Dave S! We almost bought a a Z1, but the 20v was all ready loaded up and ready to go. The Z1 needed a tower on it, and other odds and ends that wife wasn't willing to wait for.
