Drain plug

My T handle drain plug mid transom is leaking no matter how tight i get it in there. Has anyone tried teflon tape on the plugs? Any other ideas?

They come with an O-ring... yours is probably missing. Teflon tape will work temproarily.

I just noticed today that me T handle plug has an ever so slight drip too. I pulled it apart and cannot see any type of flange or groove for an o-ring to fit on. Should the o-ring be on the threaded portion of the handle or the boat?

the older ones didnt use the oring type. they were a pipe thread.

nope no "O" ring for me either. Mine is leaking around the outside of the female portion, the housing. I have to pull that out and reseal it with 5200.

Leaking outside the female end??? So I take it the teflon tape didn't help you any? I torqued mine down a bit more, and it seems to have slowed it down a lot more...(I'm not sure if its residual water from the last time out or new water.

Leaking around the gasket of the housing? Yikes....
Silly Cone that $hit...
