stereo question

A friend of mine has an aftermarket stereo in his BU that he is having problems with. Two hifonics amps one for the inboats and sub and a separate one for the tower speakers. He is telling me that when he turns the volume up it will slowly fade out? Any idea what the problem may be? I figured it would be a ground issue if it was cutting out completely, but he assured me that it wasn’t, that it was only fading out slowly? any help would be great

Can you describe with a little more detail what you mean by fade out? Is it the cabin speakers, towers, or both? If the problem is affecting all the speakers, I would say it's related to the source unit or supply voltage.

He said it was all at the same time. I will be up there tomorrow to hear it myself, hopefully I can provide better info. Thanks I'n advance.
