Wife is fetching me some "Totally Awesome" at the Dollar Tree. she said she's seen it there. Can hardly wait to clean... wow did I really just say that?
You can dilute it as well. That stuff works "Totally Awesome" pun intended

I have never had a problem but this is one of my biggest rules, nothing orange-cheetos, cheese culrs, cheese balls, doritos, etc. in addition to no glass.
Another thing is no brand new bathing suits, especially the women since they like to buy new bikinis all the time and wear them on the boat before they wash them, the die can leak and stain the seats, I have seen that one happen first hand.
Also no smoking. I saw this one first hand to, someone was smoking and holding their cigarete oer the boat but the wind blew the ashes right back in the boat and burned/melted into the vinyl. I saw this one first hand also.

So I went out and bought the Totally Awesome, and basically i was amazed. Stuff works great, seriously i began trying it around the other cushions and the stuff just works awesome, I just couldnt stop cleaning, if i didnt have to work tonight I would have done the whole boat. I am new to all this vinyl cleaning products so i have been hesitant to use things. I have recently bought the Vinyl Hot Sauce produce( worked ok, if the seats are practicly clean, gives the seats a conditioned look, but didnt work good for dirty seats, left them sticky), Exquisite ( havent used much of it as i barely got it in the mail, but did try it on the cheeto's and didnt work or make cushions seem any cleaner then anything else), Dawn and hot water(works very good after a normal day on the water to clean up dirt and dirty water, leaves seats feeling clean, then follow up with Vinyl Sauce). And lastly the Totally Awesome works great, basically i was worried about those cheeto stains, but then noticed how it cleaned up the cushion very well, i started trying it out on areas, such as where cushions meet with other cushions and usually leave a dirty looking area, anyways i had tried cleaing with other products and nothing actually got off the grime, so i just lived with the fact i couldnt see it but the totally awesome worked great, also the areas between the cushions and the fiberglass, the little rope edges cleaned up very well, pretty much spray on wipe off. This stuff is also sold at walmart in the cleaning aisle, same price as at Dollar Tree, yellow product in clear container, you have to dilute 50:1 for vinyl. Anyways try it out worked for me really well.

Several good (i.e., too strong) cleaners will eat those cushion threads alive, resulting in separation of the seams. I hope you do not have one of those ...
Really? My brother has been using that for years. Maybe he's just lucky so far? I haven't used it because I haven't really worried much since I want to reupholster some of my vinyl anyway...
I think it's ok to use it in extreme circumstances (like red cheetos).
The Magic Eraser isn't the best thing for vinyl but there are times when it's absolutely needed and I agree with Timmy! here. Scrub the vinyl with the Magic Eraser and put into direct sunlight for awhile but not very long. Then condition it ASAP.
I had a friend that invited a family on their boat that brought red licorice and it dropped onto the vinyl 2 years ago. To this day, you can still tell where the licorice was dropped. However, he never used the Magic Erase against it.
Magic Eraser is abrasive so you have to use it with caution. Don't use it on painted walls it will dull the finish big time. I have had good luck with a product called "spray nine." but have never had to clean up dorito disasters.
All the more reason to allow only water to drink on the boat and no snacks. Easy for us with a lake house to dock at. Was not so easy when we used the state parks.
reading this reminded me of a list of boat rules a few of my boating Friends came up with.... Some of it is a little over the top but I think it makes if funny.....
Please feel free to print this out and hand it to your friends if/when needed..
Tigé Rules
(It’s our boat so we get to make the rules)
Basic rule of thumb is this: Have a good time and treat our boat with respect as if it were yours. If you are on our boat, it means we invited you. You are our guest. It is our responsibility to make sure that you are safe while with us. It is our responsibility to make sure that you know if I've got any pet peeves, or, I mean "special rules" on our boat. It is our responsibility to understand that if you are new to boating, even if I explained our rules, you are in a different environment and may make mistakes, and I should not have a temper tantrum. As our guest, if you do not have a relaxing and pleasant experience, we have failed. Life is stressful enough, we are on our boat to relax and enjoy life.
