I voted Hurley. Seems like it would suit a chocolate lab.

    How about Brownie?

When I saw this this thread, I kinda figured you thinking about what kind of dog to get. I was gonna say chocolate lab. I've had two of them and I've been trying to talk the wife into getting one. I'm just going to have to come home with one one of these days.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Congrats on the new dog. I voted Hurley too, the name just seems to flow well. But usually dog names shorted to one syllable and can't really see how to shorten Hurley...Hurl?

As far as needs for the dog...lots of bones and balls . As a puppy I would take him on the boat be very strict with not allowing him on any seats! Being on the boat early will hopefully make it more of a normal day out of the house so he will not go crazy when he sees water. Also keep his nails short this will help with vinyl punctures.
Teach him to swim early. Labs will not need a life vest unless you plan on having them in the water all day.

Early discipline is very important and exercise.

We went with a wakeboard themed name for our golden retriever - Shasta, after Shasta Lake.

Eventhough goldies are great swimmer we still use a life jacket on her. She stays in the water so long the jacket helps to keep her from tiring out. Also the handle on top really help to get her back on the boat without her scratching the heck out of the teak.

I had a cat named Tige... wouldnt be a bad dog name.
Current cat is Elvis.. and outnumbered by 3 dogs: Rudy, Brody, and Beauregard (known as Bo-retard)

I like Hurley. He suits his name. Please post more pics as he grows, as I think he's going to be a fantastic looking dog.

                        Gratz!
