I actually tow with my tower down most of the time. I think it makes less drag on my 2002 21V. I have the big rectangular speakers. It also is easier to just pull it out of the garage and go. I use a large heavy cardboard resting on the seat and a couple of those water noodles the kids play with to pad the seat. I have seen no evidence of wear to the seat.

It may be my imagination, but I feel that it pulls easier with the tower down.
    Be excellent to one another.

it should pull easier, less wind resistance

My buddy was traveling down from Northern CA and on the way he bumped into one of the guys at Boss Towers who told him to put the tower up since the way his was designed would bend the metal on the bimini. So he threw it up and end result:

200 miles of bug guts...... and nothing bent.

We tow with the tower up and also get a nice layer of bug guts and a boat full of tree branches and leaves...After the day at the lake though, it is all worth the clean-up...

I'm a new owner. Those of you that trailer with the tower up, do you leave the wakeboards in the racks or stash'em in the boat

DO NOT DRIVE WITH THE BOARDS IN!!

Hope that was loud enough... I have alread witnessed two people on the freeway have boards fly off. I know you look cool, but I would wait till you get to the dock.

With that said, one boat that I saw the boards fly out of was an X80. hehe

I agree... Boards Off! And If you have a new 2004 and have the board racks mounted at the side instead of the top, take those off if you are going to be passing through tight spaces (toll-booths)...Also, before we starting towing our boat, the Slalom Shop recommended we tow with it up for a couple of reasons...

anyone who drives with thier boards on the tower deserves to have them fly off, that is soo dangerous!!! A big board going 65mph......with cars behind you......not smart. I would hate to see someone get hurt because of that.

Again, saran wrap comes into play. Use it on the front of the tower and just peel the bugs off once you get to the lake.

Nice, good idea....I hate having to scrap bugs out of my brand new Deafcon III's at the end of the day.
