91 Terminator, Im not going to get in a pissing contest with you over this same subject that you seem to bring up a lot. This is a forum for owners and if I want to give my opinion that I think a Z1 at $68k is pricey, I can.
To be honest I'm not sure why your chiming in at all, he is certainly not in your territory for new boat sales and it doesnt appear that you trying to help at all. I was a salesman for Tige as well as other brands of boats. I am very familiar with the expense of running a boat dealership and the massive overhead that it consumes. I had access to our cost sheets, I am very familiar with how much these boats cost from the factory and how much a dealer can make. As far as you know, I could have 2011 dealer prices sitting in front of me? My opinion is that Z1 seems pricing and others agreed, not what I think his dealer needed to make off the deal to afford his business.

Still do not know if you have a color preference but here are a couple:

      http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218...d=&search=tige - Z1

      http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218...d=&search=tige - Z1

http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218...d=&search=tige - R20 smaller motor but gives you an idea of another dealer

As Timmy mention give WWS a call. There is also a list of dealers thread that you can look at.

We agree... boats cost too much. For me, I wont buy another new boat ... ever again. Mine is 4 years old and is worth less than 2/3 of it's purchase price. Im going used from here on out. More boat for the money.
So this monkey walks into a bar...

First off, it's the start of boating season - the absolutely worst time of year to be looking for a deal on a boat.

That said, do what I did: Start coaming the dealers nationwide for a leftover boat. "Leftover" means a new (never sold) boat from a previous year. 2011's are new now, so look for a 2010 or 2009 or maybe even a 2008 that the dealer never sold. The restrictions on selling outside your region don't apply to leftover boats, and you get a full factory warranty.

Watch out for dealer demo boats with tons of hours that they are trying to sell as leftovers. Those can still be purchased with a full factory warranty, but manufacturers usually have an upper limit on the hourmeter. Buying a demo with <30 hours probably means your warranty is OK; 100+ hours, not so much. If you find one that otherwise looks great, call the manufacturer directly (yourself, personally) with the hull number and hour count and confirm they will honor the full factory warranty - BEFORE you buy.

In my case, I found a leftover with 15 hours on the meter, from what I consider the best vehicle dealer I've ever had the pleasure to work with, at an excellent price, with full factory and engine warranty. The only disadvantage was that it was 2800 miles away. After flying there to do an on-water demo, they arranged to have it fully shrinkwrapped and then I had it put on a flatbed trailer (to protect the hull and boat trailer) and driven cross-country. Total extra cost due to distance was probably $4-5K, easily covered by what I saved by buying a leftover.

Meanwhile, there were other leftovers at other Tige dealers - some much closer to me (including some I would have just driven to and towed home from). This just happened to be the best "package" deal I could find, plus I really liked the dealer and their reputation amongst the Tige community.

Don't be in a rush. Haste leads to poor decisions. Do your research, check dealer websites, call around, post on sites such as this, etc. Make the community aware of your interests. Deals will surface and you will be able to find one that works for you.

          Hope this helps!

Im not getting in any pissing contests nor am I selling anything just like to inform the OP that he needs to compare the right models then he will better understand the pricing differences.

I know that Z1/VLX/210/X14V are all direct comparisons yet nobody said that the VLX for 72K was high now did they? Why must Tige be less? Yes of course we want it to be less but if its already less and does everything comparable if not better then why is it to high? Boat for boat they are very very similar and perform very very similar so the Z1 would be the clear choice here wouldn't it. its 68K vs 72K and gets better fuel economy? and Im sure if he was ready to deal that 68K could become less.\

To the OP good luck in your hunt. I hope you end up in a Tige Z1 if that is what you want. Sorry didn't mean to hijack. Im done now.

I know that Joel @ Stayton Motorsports in Oregon has two 2010 new leftover Z1's that he has reasonably priced for brand new boats (low to mid 50's I believe). Other than tower speakers, both of those boats seem pretty loaded. I know it is quite far from your location, but he is very knowledgable and definitely worth a phone call to discuss.

As mentioned, I would also call our local dealer here in Denver and talk with Bill. They are also excellent people to work with and straight shooters.

Here is the boat we considered purchasing with the 275HP engine. Might be worth a look for you since you're at sea level...

Here is a used one, the biggest difference on this is the tower. With the coin you would save you could really upgrade. On the one thing I do not know if you really load your boat with ballast if you would be happy with the 275hp. This one has the 320hp, same as iwndr and he loves his.

OP, You should also check out Texas Tige just north of Houston. They took real good care of me. They have a well equipped Z1 on their website, but may no longer be in stock though. They always order well equipped, well powered boats so you will not be dissaopinted after the sale.

Let me just say "Axis A20 might be worth a look, loaded under $50K and I'm loving it".

I have the RZ2 and love it, but for what you want you might really want to look at the Axis A20 or A22. You should be able to get the A22 pretty loaded for 55-60 (based on what I priced them at last year). They are not quite as nice on the inside as my RZ2, but pretty close to the Z1.

                          Z1

I wouldn't consider our Z1 basic in options. It does not have the PCM 343 but the new 5.0 that the president and my rep of Tige said performed well.Options include,Flex gel coat,Basic Ballast, center bow cushion,Depth guage,EIDB,Tower of Power stereo w/60's,Samson swing racks,Custom cover,Custom Phoenix tandem trailer w/swing tongue.
We left off the 343 HP and Tige touch to keep the price down for the mid range buyer. Our customers that want all the goodies buy the Ve's or RZ's,which are our best sellers.

Here's a link to the dealer I bought from in Hot Springs, AR. They have an R20, RZR, and an RZ2. They've been a pleasure to work with.

                              Z1

I got a 2010 Z1 black and royal blue I'm wanting to sell. It has the 343 and only 3 hours bought it last year just don't have time. It has cruise, speakers, black tower, and the boatmate trailer to match. I would take 55,000 for it.

                                R20 Again

Ok I posted on your last thread and let me add a little. First it kinda sounds like the same thing I was doing. I would look at something and say hey I like that but if I spend 5 grand more I can get this from what everyone is posting on your wall. If you're looking to spend right around $45-55k you should test a Moomba no thank you. Or the Malibu Sunscape and I drove that and hated it. I looked into used boats, and there is nothing wrong with them, but I just didn't want to be the guy that buys a boat and 3 months later the transmission goes out, I hate my boat and want to sell it. Let me tell you why I chose to buy the R20. The Z1 and the RZR are cooler looking boats yes, but I wouldn't spent $10K more. If you find a good deal on a Z1 its going to be last years or a newer one that no wants because the dealer ordered weird looking paint. If you want to have one built you're going to have to pay $60-65k. Now on to the RZR, we added everything on our boat that the RZR came with except for the tower, because we couldn't, and the paint job which we picked for our R20 is pretty sweet. Also we didn’t need the bigger engine because I will be using my boat to wakeboard and not race. After reading the review everything I read said the small engine wake is still very sick. If you’re looking around $45-55k go onto tige.com and check out the color and design you can do for the R20 you may rethink it.
