    Prospective 2011 Z1 owner

I currently have a 2008 Chaparral 204ssi, but I am taking the Admiral back this afternoon to look at a 2011 Z1 that I have found. The color is black and red. The write up says that it has the following options: alpha z tower (painted red), surf ballast, EIDB system, Flex paint scheme, black rub rail, fresh water strainer, stainless appearance package, tower cover, Tower of Power Pro 80, PCM 570v, Tige Touch screen, swivel board racks, mooring cover, bimini top, boat mate tandem axle trailer with spare.

We don't have another Tige dealer around for a couple hours drive. What would be a good price range for this boat?

Not sure if we will trade the Chaparral or let dealer sell it for us - he is willing to do it for no charge.

We have a Z1 and love it, wish I had surf ballast and swivel board racks.

I am sure there is more knowledgable people here then me on pricing that will chime in but FWIW-I am guessing that should be closer to 60k - based on options and what options I have and paid for mine.

And I might as well tell you now, if you do get the boat - 1st sign papers, second take a picture, third post here so we can see it, lol.

dealer is talking mid 60s. Only other dealer is about 3 hours away. I bought my chaparral from the mastercraft dealer right down the road (does a lot of business in the area). could the lack of competition be driving the slightly higher prices in the area?

yes, talking about allpro. I was trying to get him down more, but I just don't think he will budge. What am I going to do, go buy a mastercraft for 80k+? No competition around leads to higher prices. Other Tige dealer is south of Birmingham. there is a Nautique dealer about 1 1/2 hour from here, but once again, their sport nautique is in the 80k range. Tige dealer in Nashville went out last year. Moomba/Supra dealer in the area closed last year.

I am really impressed with the Tige, but I don't have many options around here to bring down price.

Call and talk to Robert @ Nelems Marine in Jasper.... They have more of a selection and it's not that far away

just got off the phone with Nelems. He seems like a really nice guy. They have a z1 there for 55k. it has pcm 303, tower of power 60, standard ballast, phoenix trailor, does not have touch screen, does not have surf ballast, and I just don't think the wife will like the color.

How do the different engines compare?

IMO, you definitely want the pcm 343. Have you thought about ordering one? Are you sure you definitely want the Z1? Have you driven any of the Tige's yet?

Dealer is willing to order one, no problem. I would probably order one like he has to be honest.

Haven't driven yet, if wife likes the look then we will set up a drive. No bother driving one that the wife doesn't even like to look at. So, at this point we are just trying to make sure we like the look of one. While we are there, I will have her look at RZ2 they have, but I already know that is out of the price range. I looked at R20, but I don't like the look. Proportions are off for me.

Look at a 22Ve as well (if they have one) and test drive at least 2 Tige models if the Z1 is what you are interested in. I have heard that the Z1 handles a little differently than the other Tige v-drives.

none of the Tige dealers in my area have 22Ve. They all have R, RZ, and Z series.

Do you have to have new? You might be able to get a great used boat, possibly more what your after, for the price you can afford.

I know that RT has a nice 2007 22Ve up in VA. Like Timmy said it might be worth driving a couple to make sure you get what you want. Even if it is pretty to look at if doesn't do or feel like what you want you wont be happy.

The RZ2/22Ve drive pretty close to the same. I have heard that the R20/RZR drives like the other v-drives as well. It would be hard to drive an RZ2 and then be faced with having to settle for a Z1, that would be torture.

I know that you haven't said that used would be an option but to give you an idea. This dealer is no longer a Tige dealer and is liquidating his Tige's. He has a 2009 RZ2 demo boat that is about what you mentioned the new Z1 with the smaller engine.

I am not affiliated to the dealer nor know anything about the boat then what is in the ad.
