    Wakeboard Rack Straps

As noted in the below picks, my wakeboard racks don't have the straps to secure the boards. It appears they have been cut off.

Where can I purchase replacement straps?

    Thanks.

I sent Wakedesigns.com an e-mail with pics of my wakeboard racks to determine if their replacement straps will work.

      Thanks.

you can get relacement straps from wake designs. I did last year, about $40 dollars from what I remember. take the center cap off and you'll find a small screw holding them into the rack.

The original straps were really bad quality and got black stuff all over your hands and then the boat. I understand why they were cut off.

Were you able to find replacements for a reasonable price? I was quoted about $38 for 1 strap (mostly due to freight), and I just wasn't willing to pay that for what seems like a $2 part.

Yep, I got some from wake designs a while back and still have an extra set just in case.

I sent WakeDesigns pics of the racks asking if their straps would work. Here's a response from one of their employees:

"Its hard to say if the straps would fit or not. IF the top of the racks are enclosed then for sure they wouldn't also I have no idea how big those wholes are. They look like they might work but I am leaning towards not working. They look like you have to do there style of strap that attaches with those inserts. Sorry I wish I had a better answer for you but with out physically touching them I can’t give you a straight answer."

I'm not sure what to do. Perhaps I'll order the straps and if they don't fit I can either return them or pass them along to another forum member.

                Thoughts?

Did you call your dealer or Tige? I got a set from my dealer last fall, they said that Tige gets them from Wake Designs

Take the center phillips head screw out to remove the rest of the strap and measure the mounting hole. Take a picture of it also and send it to them.

That explanation from them is lame!

Just a suggestion as seen from the pics, I have no idea what the straps are supposed to look like, but you could go to your local west marine store and buy bungee cord in bulk (sold for sailboats) and make your own?

Just wanted to add, that its a good idea to get those straps. Without them you'll lose a wakeboard in rough waters and never see it again....TRUST ME
