    Lake Texoma Advice

We're new to North Dallas and Lake Texoma. We launch our boat at Highport Marine. The boat is stored at a facility within 3 - 5 minutes of Highport Marina.

As respects to Lake Texoma, any advice on the best areas for calm water? Also, what are the best family friendly areas on the lake? Are these areas within a close boating distance from Highport?

What are the options to Highport? Although we like the facilities, it gets pretty crowded. Needless to say, yesterday was pretty crazy.

    Thanks

Best boarding spot is newberry creek.

Best family beach is either ur own you find or the beaches across from washita point
Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

      Thanks.

I posted the same question on the Malibu Crew Forum. One of their members said another good location is close to Bikini Island on the south side by the cliffs. And, the most western island is the family island.

Keep an eye out for Hazard areas. My baby got owned this past weekend (at Texoma) when we failed to notice we were trucking right into a bad spot poorly marked

Prop took it hard and my three Tracking fins (skeggs) got all bent up.

I guess it's time to put on a 1235! lol

          That's a bummer.

Where did you launch your boat? Where did this happen?

it's a good thing the lake has coem up about 1.5 ft in the last 10 days are there would have been a lot more people in your same situation. I saw a lot of people running wide open in 3ft of water. 2 weeks ago I saw a few run a ground. Too answer your question we always park at the west islands, pretty kid friendly depending on your neighbors. Smooth water go west out of highport turn in the next cove with a marina go past no wake bouys and make another left. Good cove but get there early and be willing to share time with others.
