    Installing a battery isolator

I ned help figuring out what wire to hook up from the alternator to the isolator. I have the orange wire on the alternator and then a red and purple. The orange wire is big and the red and purple are small. Which one do I need to hook it up to.

What type of Isolator are you installing, manual multi-battery switch type, Diode type or ACR type? Brand and model may help also.

I believe the arc type. The one tige uses in there new boat. I running a cranking battery and now an accessory and need to know what wire I hook to the middle terminal of the isolator from the alternator.

        Ok, gotcha.

WHat Tige uses is a diode type iso with 3 posts: center = alt input, and then the two outside posts go to the battery POS terminals.

On your Tige, I believe the alt charging output (hot post) wire goes to the starter. It should be a large 4ga wire. This is also where the the help BUSS draws from. You are going to need to move that wire to the center post of the diode iso and then relocate that helm BUSS to the main battery. Then, I would consider relocation some of the helm loads such as nav lights, heater, stereo, etc, over the house battery.
