GoPro Quality

Hey I was wondering if anyone knew how to keep the original quality of the gopro camera when uploading to the internet. I made this small surf edit just to see and uploaded it to vimeo and it's absolute crap! I guess i should try youtube. Don't ask why I haven't tried yet because I honestly don't know why. Have a look.

First, what resolution did you record this in on the gopro, r1,r2, .... r5? When you took the video off the gopro, you must have edited it to put the music on, what did you edit with, and how did you export it? That is most likely your problem.

r3.. i used sony vegas to edit and export to .avi.. it looks great running the file from my harddrive but once it is uploaded it looks like crap

What resolution and bitrate, and what codec did you export as? All of this makes a huge impact on final quality. Also, you should have HD enabled on vimeo, although it won't help if you didn't upload in HD.
