I am not sure that I buy that the rubrail just came off. But this is actually one of the very first times I have heard of a boat sinking while surfing. Which is actually pretty surprising since there are a lot of people who do this sport and put an awful lot of people and ballast weight in the boat.
I have been involved in threads where safety nuts (which I generally advocate) talk about the dangers of weighting a boat so heavily...but pretty much could never produce a single ounce of proof that it has ever done some harm. Now I stand corrected, I know of 1 boat that capsized/sunk/failed/whatever because of too much ballast. And obviously this guy was on the fringe with the amount of ballast he uses.Be excellent to one another.

In past Correct Craft model yrs, the caps have been screwed to the deck under the rub rail, then a bead of sealer applied. I could this joint failing and letting in water. Could easily be due to an inadequate amount or poorly placed bead of sealer. Think about how much of the boat is actually under water with the rub rail at the water line. That could easily cause one to flip. I say it's plausible.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More
