Are those the quick release supports and are they what you had to cut down?
Those are the quick release mounts. I have pins on mine, much like my platform release pins.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Do you have a pic of the FAE from the side. A full side view verses the 3/4 side view? Would like to see one if you had it. One that looks at the FAE directly from the side.

Does the FAE really not mess up the surf wake? Does it really not add any extra drag? Is it really that AWESOME?!?!

It is the quick release. I think you will have to cut either way. I'll try to get a full side pic.

Bagzzz - there are several threads on here about the fae. If it's what everyone says it is it will be awesome. I'll let you know after memorial weeken!!

I was asking about the side view because it kind a looks like the down spout isn't able to be straight up and down. Probably just the angle of the picture. I mention this only because my first FAE wasn't the correct fit for my boat. It wasn't really an error on either my part or Larrys. Just happened to get the wrong parts (the two that take the connect to the exhaust ports). They were too short and therefore didn't allow my down spout to be completely vertical which ended up creating this miniture rooster tail of water that would spout up in between the platform and the back of the boat. Anyway, when I explained this to Larry, he asked me to take some measurements and found I had too short of pipes coming from the exhaust to the cross pipes. He sent me the right ones and voila!!

If your down spout can't be vertical as in the pic below, maybe talk to Larry and see what he thinks.

Again, just probably the angle of the pic you posted but just wanting to make sure before you get out there and find something a little off.

here is a side view. sorry, it's not a great pic. the boat was in storage with minimal light. i talked to larry and he thought it would be fine. their instructions even show it at a little angle. i guess i'll know next weekend!

You probably will notice nothing. It might have been me being too particular about it but measurements regarding my TAPS plate on my model were off and therefore caused issues.

Your install looks really great. Very nice workmanship!! You will enjoy it. Don't recall if you have run your boat w/out FAE but if you have you will notice a good difference. If you haven't, then just know you have installed a noise reducer and an exhaust eliminator.

                    Very Nice!

Last Tuesday night I towed a guy in with an I/O in who hit a log & sheared prop. I pulled our boat into open slip next to his and roped him in to his. He was looking down and admiring our 24ve and said he rode in a pals inboard and the only thing he didn't like was how noisy they were with the exhaust at water level vs being underwater like his I/O. I told him mine was running as we were looking at it. He was like "NO S#*(%!! That's awesome" The FAE not only kills the exhaust fumes but makes it quiet. Best upgrade ever.

Busy time of the year for Larry. Everyone is getting their boat ready for summer and those things are a hot item. Poor guy. So many people wait until they have some money saved up after Christmas to go ahead and order one and he ends up with a backlog. Be patient. Larry is a great guy and he will get one to you. In the mean time, I think there is a pdf download on the site for measuring. Do this and have it ready for when you do get through to him. If you're building a surf boat, it should be the first thing on your list. If you want to demo one, I'll see if I can hook that up for you.
