Y CABLE FOR TOWABLES????

Hey Guys , I remember a thread about pulling towables on the ski pilon a few months ago... my fiber glass around the ski pilon has some cracks dew to pulling kids and i dont want to use my tower... i remember a discusion about this... isnt there something you can buy to attach to the strap down eye loops in the rear off the boat.. (a Y cable) or something???

Any help would be appriciated.. Thank you

yes they make a harness that you clip to the D-rings on the back of the boat then you hook the center point to the tube rope. I have used one for years. Easy to take on and off and no problems with using it. I have towed 2 guys over 500# combined without any problems..well with the harness or the boat. The tube on the other hand..well not so much. The tube is the weak link. It will tear long before you hurt the back of the boat.Igot shreaded tubes o-plenty to prove that.

I never had any cracks around my pylon until it got loose. Always check your nut.

I used the lifting rings, but I have kids and am not one to think I am a great tube driver just because I go 30 MPH and whip people around. The problem with me going a bit slower is that the rope would often drag in the water, spraying the rider's in the face, or stopping it from getting outside the wake. So I resorted to pulling my 5 man water weenie off of the pylon and never had a problem with it, other than a single 1 inch gelcoat crack that appeared when the pylon was loose.

If you drive fast, like for young men and aggressive tubers, then the lifting rings work fine.

I completely graded my pylon with a top plate (machined and powder coated), 4 through bolts (plus pylon in center) to a heavy duty reinforcing SS angle plate underneath, plus some 3M 4200 to boot. We pull 3 rafts at a time with no problem-o and no stress cracks.

Stock pylons were never intended to pull mega rafts with 500lbs of weight...IMHO.

I saw this on Overtons the other day and it piqued my interest. I tow from the tower (I know...I know) only because of the spray. Wonder if this works http://www.overtons.com/modperl/prod...6&merchID=4006

Maybe with this tool I can tow from the d-rings now.

I have 2 of these that have never been used.

$10 each plus shipping for any TO who wants them. Or buy them both for cheaper.
