New TIGE 24V owner...get the boat home and disaster
So I got some stabil...20 gallons of 87 and rowed out there. I hit it with a bit of starting fluid and it fired right up.Idled fine and ran out clean...no misses...doh...
.damn gauge..I guess I'll have to keep a few gallons in there from now on. I'd swear that thing was 'bobbin'..
Here's sticker shock for you> $6.85 a gallon at the Tahoe City Marina...fkrs! I think I'm gettin more gas cans OR a couple of those jerry cans I see offroaders using...cause 6 fricken 80 is just immoral
nah changed my mind. I just snapped for awhile...Just like yesterday when my Ipod kept dying and I wanted to toss it out the window on the freeway..girl stopped me but I was gonna do it I swear I was ahaha. That damn touch batt' lasts no longer than 2 lousy hours..wi fi off everything dimmed etc...f' apple
goin out today for the ballast tests..
also looking for a new wetsuit cause the ediot klowns at Oregon Surfshop online sent me a Med/L instead of a L..I'll keep the Excel. I see wetsuits goin for next to nothing in the SF Craigs..especially in Santa Cruz. Suits are CHEEEEEP.The one Excel I have is a killer 5/4/3 with kine stitching and all that..cost me over 300 bills dammit'..on sale haha
blistering doesn't happen in tahoe for some reason..magic water. Even the Washoe Indians that were here first never had a problem with their tricked out gel' canoes
Personally I've had near a dozen boats moored here for full 5 months out of the year and never had an issue
@MooseX - Are you glad it's finally warm weather here in the Tahoe area? I thought summer would never come!
I live and work in Sparks, a suburb of Reno, and we sometimes will head up to Sand Harbor. We travel to other lakes, and it's getting EXPENSIVE to launch at Tahoe now because we have to get reinspected. I just saw that the fees have been raised for the '11 boating season, and with those evasive mussels found in Lahontan it's going to be a pain for those who have to get inspected before launching.
LOL.. gel canoes.
I have a friend who lives in Incline Village??? Is that the right name? They live is a crazy 4-story house on the lake with 3 elevators... too much money I swear. I think he has it for sale.

I think I'm stuck on Tahoe..and if I pull it to go to my other favorite lake (Bullards Bar) I might just have to get reinspected for another 60 or 70 bux
..not sure but that would suck. My sticker says IN/OUT Lake Tahoe whatever that means
If my ballasts had been used the inspector dicks said they'd have to fill and flush the whole system...with a GARDEN HOSE
Thank god it's warm (70's)...but if you really want warm go to the valley. I just drove through Sac it was a cool 100

I am working from home today, and it's 89 here in Sparks by the golf course. FINALLY!
Now don't get me wrong. I loved snowboarding until the end of April, but no wakeboarding until the middle of June sucks! It was so cold and crappy Memorial day weekend we ended up staying home, and bitching about not being out on the lake.
beauuutiful day on the lake...no wind..mid 70's..water temp a frisky 58
...OK it's finally time to test out this ballast set up...hope my wiring was right ( I double double checked it a zillion times) We checked all the plugs in the sacs...and then popped the 3 ball valves
First the starboard side...buzzing and no water pumping into the sac...hmmm
Next the Port..buzzing...no water either... then popped the fuse
Bow..same as the Port..nada then POP (20 amp)
Double checked the wiring and it was clearly done right..
..hmmm disaster again
Brand new Johnsons..set up with help of Jason at WM

besides the malfunctioning ballast system the boat purrred like a kitten. The motor really is stellar
I'm getting 4700 rpm with the 1235..and the speedo is saying 47. I'm sure that's gotta be off cause we weren't going no 47..more like 43
The FAE is def holding it back it a bit. It still moves right out and on to plane like instantly but there is some def' power loss. Not sure how much...6250 ft above sea level for god sakes.
I will say it's ridiculously QUIET and a real pleasure to cruise around. It's a well designed piece and does it's job. My only suggestion/question to Larry would be why not make a 2 into 2 ie bigger split middle pipe? It seems to me there's too much back pressure...2 BIG PIPES into one small one....why not make the middle one B I G G E R. Am I wrong here?
If for some crazy reason I can't drag 2000 lbs of ballast at a time the FAE will be off in a heartbeat...I'm not expecting that but I'll do what I have to
The 340hp motor is great! I bet you have no issues. If you do you could always re-prop I think a 30 amp fuse would be what you need. The pumps impellers could be stuck. Can you pull the plate off easily? If so put some water based lube in their What is the amp load of that motor? Also these motors jump with amps when first turned on. So say if the motor normally draws 20 or so amps, it may jump to 25 or so when started. What gauge wiring did you use?
water based lubricants...uhh we just ran out again..lotsa' chafing goin round here lately
plates are easy to get to if someone holds me upside down. they're mounted on the firewall upside down
I hope I didn't fry some impellers..that's another week without surf...sigh..
shame as lately the lake has been one long 20 mile piece of glass. Just sickness....
I'm pretty sure teh fees have scared away alotta the usual suspects. Plus it's still June and nobody has showed up.... and June is always a calm month as far as wind
