New TIGE 24V owner...get the boat home and disaster

So I'm pretty excited to take the new (05' 24v W/71 hours..$35k near showroom cond..no cracks..sigh) out for a spin. After trailering it for 8 long hours last Saturday from Atascadero in central CALI back to Tahoe I was jonesing for some watersport action

...It was sunny THEN it snowed..disaster haha. Damn what a winter we've had. I must have had a zillion ft. of snow in my yard at one time. Here let me scare the crap outta' you with a sample March photo (right before we got another 3 feet haha)

    Sorry to frighten you guys.

    Here's the boat pics>

    Damn snow

we spent over an hour and a half at VS Marine in Atascadero, CA giving it the once over..then again. ran it with lubed up drive. Sat in the back with the tunes for awhile...did a rip and talked alot...really 'scoured' it looking for issues....all was really clean...mechanically awesome too IMHO..and my buddies too.

They were'nt bs' me when they said it was mint. BODY...everything is real clean. One stain on the carpet that's it...nada..the rest is so nice I hate to take it out and the first blemish will surely break my heart

Almost bought this 06 22 Ava'. Thanks to Duffy I backed off and found the kine' 24v..whew...the Ava' was sketchy..despite the clock having 11 hours. It was an auction boat and did NOT look like an 11 hour boat whatsoever. Shame as it was less than an hour from my driveway. Same price as the TIGE 35k.. It would've been a short drive to Roseville near Sac.. I'm up near Donner Summit close to Sugar Bowl. I'm pretty sure the Centurion is still for sale. Teh dealer keeps texting me with lower offers...looked nice in the pics..but in person it was ratty for 11 hours..hahaha..scam

thanks. Phone pics don't do it justice. Better pics later.

I'm still in shock at how clean it is..and that's it's in my driveway. I couldn't be more stoked. I got a bunch of ballast on the way from Wakemakers too.

Cant' wait to surf. That's all the boat is going to be used for..surfing..no wakeboarding or nothing haha..Well maybe a little wakeboarding. Depends on teh girls who want that sort of thing.

AND maybe some tube rides. Nothin like beating your best freinds up on teh towables

Sweet. Where do you ride out of in Tahoe? My buddy already has his 22ve in the water over at Obexer's so we (mostly he) can be found on the west shore when we are out.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Tahoe City Nickyp'. We've got several bouy options around town. It will be on a bouy 6 days a week. day 7 out for gas and detail. I've only had 2 boats sink...haha..well I was an ediot then. Too short a bow line once and the other my bilge failed OR was never working to begin with. Both times I salvaged and they ran fine...My bouy line is good to 27,000 lbs..no messin around. BJ made it and he's the man when it comes to bouys

..I spend alotta time around town but love to go to the westshore. Usually Hurrincan bay or the other way to Chinquapin cove. Wherever it's calmer.

Sometimes I stop in at High and Dry to see B Rad. That's my boy there..If you boat tahoe westshore or ride Homewood Ski area you KNOW B RAD

I actually have an offer to use a Hurrican Bay bouy..dude want's 2 grand though just for a season. No limit though. I can keep it there 'till the snow flies. Risky but sometimes you know winter can be late. Not so in our homeowners field. They want it out right after Halloween for insurance bs

Yeah thanks everyone. Duffy sorry. I'm sure your gonna sort sh*t out and get that white tige spankin

When you say bouy, are you talking of leaving the boat in the water all the time?

Yep...I'm crazy..fully insured and crazy. It's a bitch to take it out all the time 'cause you have to go through a full hull inspection for mussels and stuff. Costs every time for them to inspect your boat. If I have to I'll pull it every time...

Is it barrier coated on the bottom? If not you will most likely have some serious gel coat blisters at the end of the year.

I could put it on a lift and give it a few mils of CM15..but I wasn't aware that TIGE had sh*tty gelcoat finishes. I know I never had a single time where I got blisters..especially with older fiberglass boats. This is my 14th boat on Lake Tahoe. I hope it's not the first with that jive blister deal.

I can tell you this much the boys at my favorite marina ie Sierra Boat haven't seen a blistered boat in quite some time. Something about how clean Tahoe is. I might just hit it with a good coat of Aurora VS 721 bottom coat wax. That stuff is thick, slippery and tough. Do that once a month or twice depending on usage

...On the other hand if the boat bottom blisters I'll kill myself haha

My buddy keeps his on a bouy all summer as well with no blisters, bringing up my point from another thread that blistering occurs in warm, dirty water. Tahoe is neither.

We usually surf between Chamber's and Fluer de'Lac. I always seem to have good luck over in Meek's as well. Not sure why. Logic dictates it should always suck there but, for whatever reason, it likes me. We also hit Hurricane as well.

Not sure if I know B Rad. Does he bartend at Homewood?

yep it takes nasty water and some kind of chemical reaction to seperate the epoxy from the gel coat.

B Rad is the bouy boy over at high and dry..and does tickets at Homewood in the winter. He's a fixture on the west side

Meeks rocks. Especially on calm days when you can see the sandy bottom as you cruise..unreal. I love all that stuff down towards Bliss.

We used to do beach starts off of the sandy estate beaches just after Bliss and before Emerald Bay...that is when there not home and off at the French Riviera or some pimp palace in LA. I like those waters almost as much as the 'East Side paradise'. Too bad we don't get over there so much 'cause of gas prices. Typically we start up and surf right in front of TC if it's calm...if not so calm we either head over to Chinquapin OR Hurricane depending on the wind

I'm sure we'll run into your crew this summer. Not that many surf boats...

I'm gonna make a trip to Tahoe this summer. Mostly in the sac delta though. Much warmer water down here.
                              Waiting for another good one!
