    Thanks, great install and writeup!

I agree that's one way to buy more space, but that means you nipped off the NPT threads. Aren't you now trying to mate dissimilar thread types? (NPS thruhull to NPT valve)

Mount whichever pump that you need to on its side like you would with a manifold.

Yep, that's definitely an option. I have some 90's and 45's on order right now to see what will fit.

        Thanks!

But as noted, the clearance between the bunk and the rail, and the tilt of the hull relative to the rail, may not allow an elbow to "spin" and thread down onto the intake. If the bunk were a bit farther way from the rail (or cut away), I could move the intake away from the rail far enough to permit a 90 and do exactly what you're suggesting.

          Thanks!
          Could you use a union?

Maybe. I hadn't thought of that. I'm not a fan of pipe unions but it might be a possibility here. Thanks for thinking outside the box - THAT's what makes forums like this so valuable! Keep those ideas circulating!

I dont think so but I could be wrong. The thru hulls that Chp sold me had the same threads all the way down so it shouldn't matter. I used teflon tape and the bronze shut off ball valves screwed on with no issues on all 3 thru hulls. After I cut the one down I used a metal file and made sure the top of it was as level as the others. Maybe I messed it up but didnt feal any different as the others when installing and no leaks.

              maybe Chp can chime in
