    Bimini Boot/Cover Help

Guys, we bought this boat (2004 22v) in December and Saturday was the first trip out. Boat ran perfect (thanks to Brandon/Steve at Texas Tige) and the family was happy.

Question on my bimini - it is the factory bimini, but the seller did not have the boot/cover for it. So each time I trailer the boat I have been completely removing the bimini and traveling with it in the truck - this makes for a real pain.

I have made a post in the Classified section to see if anyone has an old boot laying around. Assuming I find no luck there, does anyone have a tip as to how I could travel with the bimini attached to the boat? I can close it up and wrap the straps around it, but I just don't think that would work well for long trailering trips.

    Thanks guys.

        Just my

I have the factory bimini that is a PITA but I take it off all the time to travel, I figure a couple of minutes is worth trying to preseve the longivity if it, not cheap to replace.

Nice pics looks like they were having a good time.

I made sure to get that 3rd pic while he was running and playing. Pulled one of those - "hey Tyler look over there" in order to get him to turn around. My 6 yr old and 2 yr old enjoyed the tube, but my 4 yr old wouldn't do it (yet). It was rough, even behind the boat, so hopefully the next trip will be calm and he will try it out.

I got to try out my new skate, and it worked well - even in the rough water.

Putting that bimini back on is a 2 man job, and my biggest issue is that it doesn't fit well in the back of my truck. I have the little short bed on a Sierra, and so when I close the tailgate I have to squeeze the bimini to fit. I need a boot!!!

skippabcool - why don't you leave your bimini up while traveling? Are you missing the boot as well?

Local upholstry or canvas shop would probably be your best and cheapest try. Good luck and awesome pics.

No, I have it but between the wind working on the canvas, the poles rub on the tower. The previous owner had left it on and it has scratch the tower, supposedly common on my year tower and factory bimini. Mine is a two person as well, great way to start the day off with the wife

You should be able to get a zipper and canvas piece pretty easy to make one. Mine also has straps on the outside to secure it to the tower. I don't know if mine would fit yours but I could probably get you pattern from it.

Thanks for researching! Just called them, $26 for the boot and $15 shipping from Canada. Searched other sites and $41 all in is cheapest. She asked me to take a measurement or 2, so I will order tomorrow.

                    Thanks yllw20.

Deal - just wish we had somewhere to go that is close! All of my options are at least 1+ hours away.

Got the boot ordered from www.biminitopusa.com this week. Boot was $26 plus $15 for shipping from Canada. Yllw20, thanks for the link - Sonia at the shop was very helpful and friendly - truly French Canadian, as I could barely understand her!

Waiting on its arrival now, and hope it fits snug.

I bought my boot from them and it was perfect! I bought wide velcro straps at Home Depot to secure the boot to the tower, or you can use boat cover straps wound around the tower and boot to keep it secure. Had no problems since, other than cleaning the bugs off the tower and the boot.
