    Alpha Z Tower adapter kit

Does anyone know or heard of a kit that replaces the existing pin & locking device on an 09 Alpha Z Tower to the new style? I have problems with the tower knocking all the time due to the pin is too small when inserted into the bushing of the tower.

Its not that the pin is too small. First fold the tower down and tighten the little allen set screw so the pin doesn't rattle as much. Then go get some thicker rubber gaskets and glue them on the tower. the factory ones are a little too thin and fall off often. But with the set screw a bit tighter and thicker geaskets that should take away the noise.

Also check the rear flathead pivit bolt they come loose every once in a while and will make some noise.

This is correct, I had the same issue, tried the above steps and problem solved. Haven't had a single rattle since.

I had a problem where the tower made a horrendous noise when moving at significant speed in choppy water. The tower was vibrating at the joint and cutting through the rubber pad. At the end of the season, my dealer diagnosed the problem as excess powder coating on the tower and sanded it off and smoothed it out. Hopefully this will solve the problem , but we won't find out until memorial Day weekend.

Take you tower to the dealer there is a kit to convert all 09 and 2010 towers to the new threaded style it will eliminate the knock and bushing wear. We will replace them at our expence for any one wanting the kit. Thanks for supporting Tige'
