    Parts

How can a company the size of Tige, not keep records of the parts they use on their boats, and how to find them?

My cruise went out last year and after 3 trys and lots of pixs, emails and phone calls they sent me the right one. After I paid for the wrong one in advance.

Now my paddle wheel is broken and they are telling me it is transom mounted, not a thru hull.....

I think I would know the difference, so after 5 phone calls they just asked for pix of my transom? I just sent pix of my transom with out a paddle wheel. And the part # of the thru hull paddle wheel. Now where do we go? Not sure but I bet it will take a credit card number to get the ball rolling.

Companies like Tige do not have to abide by the same laws that the automotive industry do.
If you had more information about yourself and your boat on your profile, I am sure people here could help you.
Tige, it's a way of life!

WHat year and model boat? Thats funny, every time I ever talked with Lee or Harvey, all they needed was the HID and they new what was on that boat when it was built.

If the transducer is an Airmar, call them up and give them the number off the sticker and they will tell you which paddle wheel kit you need. They are about $45. Good luck.

I also called some time ago and they gave me all kinds of info on my boat and I'm not the 1st owner either.

Thanks for all the help guys, just got off the phone with Lee and Harvey (Nice guys)..

Have no idea about Laws and auto industry...

Triducer is $400.00... Manufacturer says it carries’ a lifetime warranty?

And we are still not sure if that will make my Speedo work. Kinda like let’s just throw some cash at it and hope it works?

You state above "Now my paddle wheel is broken". Is the wheel physically broken, as in missing a paddle? If so, you just need a paddle wheel kit. And yes, I know tige says it only comes as a complete transducer asm. That is true from them, but Airmar, the mafr of the transducer does sell a paddle wheel kit. Do not buy the whole transducer for just a paddle wheel. If the speedo is inop due to a suspected faulty transducer, then that a different ballgame.

First of all there are test procedures to determine if the paddle wheel is working or the guage is out , so you dont have to through money at it to guess.

It can be very frustrating when dealing with issues on your boat esp when the dealer doesn't want to take the time or cant troubleshoot properly. I have been dealing with an issue for while on my boat now. I started by taking it to my local tige dealer, who by the way has changed like 4 times in the last 4 years. How can you build a relationship or even trust someone you dont even know. Anyway another story there. I finally went straight to manufacturer and after they couldn't figure it out they told me to take it back to dealer. Ha Ha. I have also posted on few other forums and most guys dont read what you have posted before offering their advice which is usually " Oh my friends boat had the same issue and it was this..." When if they had read what you had wrote they would know that you have already tried that. Sorry for the rant but many of us understand your frustration. There is a lot of good advice here from guys like Andrew, Mike, Dom and many others. Just relax and let everyone help.

Thanks for all the help guys, FARIA the supplier of the part is going to warrenty it, they also sent me a way to test the paddle wheel.

Has to be a great company to take care of a Tige problem for them.

What year is your boat? is it still under the Tige warranty? I have had only good experiences dealing with Tige. Harvey has helped me out a couple of times.
Glad to hear you are having it handled by Faria and enjoy your season

Morals?? Tige problem?? Did you expect them to give it to you for free?? Sounds like you had a chip on your shoulder from the git go and would not have been happy unless they fixed your problem on their dime. In case you have not noticed, stuff breaks on boats. Everyone that has one figures that out. That is not a Tige problem, it is with all boats. You called Tige and they told you how much it was to replace the part you told them was not working. If you don't like the answer, find somewhere else to get the answer you were looking for. If it was a Faria part with a warranty, they were responsible for replacement, not Tige, so why rag on Tige when it was Faria's responsibility. I get tired of people dissing companies because they don't bend over and take it when they don't get what they want. Tige has been extremely good to me and most others. Rant over.

                              You are reading me wrong.

                              Love my TIGE!

                              Dealer is AWESOME!

But they need to know what parts leave their shop on their boats.

Lee and Harvey are very nice guys!

Faira went beyond the call to keep a Tige customer coming back for more Tige's. They told me how to check my part and are going to replace the faulty part, for free!

Morals statement was directed at all those companies we deal with every day that could care less if you ever come back or not. Like I said nice to deal with a company with morals.
