i recently watched a video in which someone was wearing a swat, first time id seen it on someone and i was pretty impressed with how thin it looked. now if i can just find one for sub 100$ unless anyone else has any stellar recomendations.

The SWAT really isn't that much thinner than many of the other USCGA vests. To be approved it must provide adequate flotation so all USCGA vests are going to be thick. But the SWAT's thickness really tappers down around the arm holes and the neck to make it feel more like a comp vest. The thing I liked the most about the comp vests was the weight difference (especially when wet).

As far as vests that fit and feel more comfortable, the ones with the sectioned padding allow for a less restrictive flex and movement. (like the Jet Pilot Murray NEO).

I've been really happy with the Jet Pilot side entry and it's long. I'm 6'7" and it covers over my boardshorts . The only problem I've had is the floatation foam in the back of the vest has shifted from some high center of gravity falls. I will be getting another one though, super comfortable and then I can use this one as a beer diaper.
Fixing everyone elses boat just so I can use mine...

I find that a "little" beer no matter what PFD you wear helps!!!

Those little bubbles go a long way!!!!
