Does anyone know anything about this gas tax refund. I was reading about it on another website and it seems like it would help as gas prices go up or anytime really. Was going to call and see about specifics if anyone else has tried it let us know. http://www.americanboating.org/fueltax.asp

Too bad this does not apply to the peoples republic of Oregon, sounds like a worthwhile cause in some states and others it would be more headache than return. The $.03 return per gallon in Alaska probably only makes sense if you are out catching crab otherwise you would have to do a hell of a lot of boating.
Thanks for sharing - never knew this was a deduction option.

We have it here in Texas. We get 20 cents a gallon back of the road tax. Save your receipts, put 'Boat Gas' at the top of each receipt. Enter the day / time / total gallons of fuel / cost per gallon / total amount in a spreadsheet. Tape the receipts to a piece of paper, make a copy of everything and send it in. The first time you submit they will might ask you a followup question but if you paperwork is in order then you will be fine. I usually get anywhere from $80 to $150 depending on the amount of riding we do.If its not fun, Why do it?
