Hah! With you on country. But ... for a VERY good friend of ours, I offered that I would put 10 country songs of her choice on the boat list. The offer was not made lightly but she was a trooper all last season and great crew.

There's a whole world out there if you just open your ears. Just because it's the newest song doesn't make it worth a crap.

        So frustrating...
When I'm boarding or cruising...I'm listening to NIN, Rise Against, AFI, Blink, Bob Marley, White Zombie, STP, Tool, Rage Against the Machine, The Killers, etc...

        Hopefully you get the point^^^

When I'm at the sandbar, I'll put that LMFAO song on and watch the booties shake and boobies bounce.

BTW...LMFAO that you think LMFAO is corporate.

          MOAR!!!

          Free album download...

          http://www.maxtannone.com/projects/mosdub/

Released in April 2010, Mos Dub is a project that combines hip-hop artist Mos Def with dub reggae music. Several months before I began work on this album, I was listening to a lot of dub music and felt really inspired. I realized there were a lot of parallels between how the originators of dub (engineers and producers) became artists in their own right and what I am trying to accomplish. As I uncovered more great material, I wanted to experiment with it. Mos Dub was the result. It has since been bootlegged on vinyl.

Alright, I was out of line. My apologies. I still harbor a resentment for that type of stuff however. There's quality music out there that will shake butts. For argument sake though, I'd like to reference this little gem. Everybody knows who Will I Am is but, few know Thes One. Will shows up with a truckload of ProTools, computers and engineers. Thes is working off an old MPC. Judge for yourself.

I guess my frustration is with the seemingly unending lack of effort of the general public to look any farther than the radio for "new music". There are so many quality artist that don't receive the attention their work deserves because they (the public) choose not to dig deeper than the radio. Not to say there isn't any good music on the radio, there is. It's just buried under all this pop crap and when I'm forced to listen to the mindless drivel, such as "this summers hot song", it gets under my skin. That's all. Instead of curse your darkness though, I'd rather light a candle.

            I'm out tha door.

You'll get your chance, smart guy.

                    80's trip-

Perhaps the best songwriter to come out of 80's, Matt Johnson

I used to live next to a stripper who ended up using this for her stage routine. I traded Jesus Jones for this CD in high school. That dude was a straight up sucka.

                    ...and an 80's standard.

This guy has been sounding good lately. Maybe I'm just getting old. Joe Jackson.

...and finally, if you are going to listen Bob, for Bob's sake, find something else besides the same 5 songs everyone knows. The guy made a TON of great music, play some of it.

and dont assume that just because we like a song that gets destroyed by overplay on the radio that we suck up mindless dribble that the media giants shove down our throats... we are either scolded for listening to an original style of music like dubstep or indie, or we are assumed to be mindless followers for listening to whatever the newest top ten songs are.

im too "young" to know about this, but wasnt KISS, one of the most popular groups of its era pinned with being satanic music by the parents of the kids who loved their music so much?

Your right, I haven't heard those. Thanks for sticking to your guns Kid. You're all right.

I've gone through all the posted videos a few times now and can't say I really liked any of them all that much (well, except for Gang Starr) but, I'm trying. Most of 'em ain't bad or anything, it's just not my style. Like I said, I'm trying. You young wipper snappers and your crazy music. The Bon Iver cought my ear until I started checking out the "other" songs. Are all his songs that mopey? It's kind of like listening to that Jack Johnson song. Which one? Pick one, they're all the same damn song. Worst concert ever.

I know I come off as an elitist **** on this subject but I've been stuck in a couple situations lately where crappy radio music was inescapable and it just made me bug and I "let it out" on you guys. Sorry, completely out line on my part.

As for KISS, I have always hated KISS. There are people I respect in the music biz who love KISS. I just can't do it. I don't get it. The super gay costumes, the cheesy rock anthems. Can't do it.

Nobody- I don't think a summer has gone by that Woolly Bully wasn't rocked on my boat at some point. That's not the version I care for but, I do own the version I like.
