They are the artist. I forget the songs. They are all on CD's, don't have an Ipod yet. I only have a shuffle for working out. Need to find the songs.

Hugo's cover of 99problems is cool but only if you're out with just the boys obviously...

I like it. Definitely not on the boat with the kids though.

Gin and Juice by the Gourds. It's a cover of a Snoop Dog song done country style.

This thread caught my eye, er, my ear. I am a huge music fan, and a huge part of wake9 and our wakesurfing. RJ especially has turned into my apprentice. I have shared the love I have had since High School for Indy Alternative music, especially "Garage Band" type groups. I am going to have to get RJ to come in and post on this topic. But in my mind there are couple of bands that I can't wait to get out and hear on my Jet engines in the boat. (I call my tower speakers "Jet Engines", because those pro 80s on the outside, and then the 60s in the middle look that way, and also because they produce about the same level of racket. ;-) )

Nobody mentioned that "theme song" because we used it last year at the beginning of podcasts from Longwave, its a cool song but lacks a bit of the energy I like when we are out in the boat and to hear some thumping.

Then there is this other band, that we started listening to at the end of last season, but didn't really get a chance to play it on the water. This band has a very funny persona. I love very high energy stuff in the boat to wakesurf to, these guys fit the bill. The name of the band is "Eagles of Death Metal". I found one song by them, and in a week RJ and I were rocking out to like 3 of their albums. Have I mentioned that iTunes is my Crack? My wife says it is my crack. Anyway, this one song by "Eagles of Death Metal" just gets my juices pumping better than a good cup of coffee. Can't wait to crank this on the boat.

Lately, there is a new band we have been grooving to. Same kinda thing, high energy, garage band, and also a female lead. Not sure why, but I gravitate towards great female voices in great rock bands. Love the sound. This woman seems like she has the voice of the lead on Honey Honey. Honey Honey, the singer has that awesome raspy voice, I love it. The music is good, but more country tones in it, and thats not my favorite. But here is the voice of Honey Honey.

So back to that new band, this girl has that voice of Honey Honey, but the energy and the rock behind here that I really love. Been really grooving to these guys lately. Now, I actually like the orignal better than this remix, but I can't find on YouBoob. So if you listen to the original, it is more rock, and less techno. But this techno remix I am sure is going to sound amazing thumping in my boat. (Forgive me in advance for the lyrics, not that bad, but I have to admit I let my standards drop a bit if a song can get this fat arse grooving.)

Ok last song, Still by Nico Vega, that is there name by the way. This is the kind of band I love, because they are just a 3 piece talented, passionate group, which you can see in this acoustic session.

Thanks for the great thread guys. RJ and I work next to each other programming or editing podcasts and are constantly searching out and blairing new music. RJ could post on this stuff every week, but the kid for some reason seems to gravitate towards bands that are fronted by angry lesbians. Should I be worried? ;-)

                  ragboy

P.S. OK RJ, top that son. If its a post solely about angry lesbian bands with questionable lyrics I am going to take you out behind the middle school and kick the crap out of you.

This song is not completely my thang, but I think it could grow on me. Not one for a lot of country, but I love that blue grass feel to it.

No, not generational - it's contemporary Christian. It takes many different forms quite similar to secular music, just different content in the lyrics. You either know alot about it or nothing. When it comes to Christian themed music, I prefer gospel, but that's just me.

Ragboy, my wife has already tried to get me in a 12 step program for itunes. It's no use, just go with it.

How about Broken Bells - The High Road for a little more family friendly jam
