Spectacular thread! Here are a handful...
LCD Soundsystem's hipster dig
Sharam w/ Kid Cudi (amazing surf sound)
Crystal Castle w/ Robert Smith -- sounds like RS in his prime with The Cure
new Beastie Boys (of course, load up on classics too)
Florence's Dog Days ... (give it 30 seconds)
good ol' Hedrons
Bring on the sun
new music with an old feel
Our fav jam from last summer
Donovan's Season of the Witch ... aged well
Laid back grooves

Florence is actually quite the hottie. Several Florence jams from my boat playlist (which is 28 hours long) ...
love the red bloomers at 35 seconds ;-)
Though for You Got the Love, I really really dig the XX remix ...

So you mentioned the size of you, uh hum, playlist. I couldn't resist. Remember, I already admitted that iTunes was my crack.
My 28 hr list is pretty carefully picked. I try to balance it with about 1/5 modern/alt/indie, 1/5 80s wave, 1/5 classic rock, 1/5 hiphop/R&B (required to have a smooth sample), and the balance a smattering of novelty (e.g., several Flight of the Conchords and the like, motown, funk, and iconic singles.
I think a boat playlist needs something for everybody. I find that having about 24 hours is short enough that the playlist becomes familiar for frequent crew but long enough to not become worn. I also try to recycle less than 1/2 of the list from the previous year--pruning the list is always the hardest part.
