Not trying to start an argument just trying to clear up what I said... boating is a bad investment

Investment is putting money into something with the expectation of profit.

no arguments here. but an investment does not necesarily expect a profit. An investment is typically made to gain a return of two types. The return can be in utility (usefullness of any kind) or Monetary value (money).

But i do agree that you should expect something in return from any investment.

A good example is food.Different foods taste different and nourish differently.you can't get money back on food but you do get enjoyment eating it and nourishment also.

I'm with you. i think a boat is a fabulous investment. Not in the financial aspect but certainly in the family aspect. Every weekend my 23 year old son is down at the lake with his parents, and my daughter comes down as much as possible between work.

I 100% believe that this type of investment is a fantastic investment in family. Keep the family closer and the kids away from the hum drum "what do we do this weekend" keep out of trouble syndrome.
