    Pro Ballast Install on 24Ve

So we have been talking with wakemakers.com for about a year, thinking about something fun to do together. One of the most frequent topics people ask us about is how setup our boat, what type of sacs, pumps, etc. Originally we built our own system in the 2007 24Ve, because it had nothing stock. It worked well, but def had some issues, we sure had a lot of fun doing it.

My thought was, we still have our 24Ve, and we have these 10 kids down the road that would love to wakesurf and board. As many of you know, Amy and I have adopted our youngest 3 kids from the State system. It is gut wrenching what these kids go through when they are not adopted as babies. So I tried to talk my Dad into taking the boat and using it with the kids. He has a big cuddy cruiser now, great for parking and swimming and guzzling gas, but not much for sport. Well, he was a bit worried about such an expensive gift. You see, he has adopted 10 kids over the last couple of years, that's right, 10. They are now from the ages of 6-12, and ready to board. Every one of these kids was adopted from one stage of neglect or another. Now they are in a loving, safe home.

So I told my Dad, what if we did something that also promoted awareness for these special needs kids, maybe others would see, and also adopt. That got him over the hump. So we talked with wakemakers.com about building us a system for the 24Ve that would be both a killer automated wakesurf and wakeboard platform for these kids. It had to be reliable, easy, fast, and based on a kit they sell. This way they could document the process and we could make more podcasts for the community. Others can watch, learn about this type of system for their own boat, whether they buy a kit from wakemakers or not. At the same time, we will also be documenting how these kids do with our own brand of "Lake Therapy".

This is going to be a great summer, and her is the first installment of this process, I hope you enjoy.

Yeah, I can't wait either. We didn't spec out the system. We wanted them to show off what they can do, and we told them how it would be used. They are going to film every step and send us the video, so it should be fun and very informative. I can't wait to see how much weight they are able to get all the way in the corner.
