Your right should not have said anything. I like NOBODY he is actually a good guy and ridiculously smart much smarter than me but just disagree on this one. Yes gas prices will keep me and my family from doing many things this summer. Glad a I got a smaller boat. Its really affecting people I know that just cant afford to do the things I said. I am all for finding cheaper fuels and get the traders out of it too.

Were just at $4 a gallon here in Oregon. Over $120 to fill up the Suburban and $200 for the boat. Yea, that will make me think twice before I book a trip to Shasta or Hells Canyon. Sure the lakes may be less crowded, but there are many unintended consequences here. Think of all the small business owners, dealers, service providers that rely on the summer boaters for their livelihood. Sure it may cut down on my recreation, but there are a lot of people that really cannot afford the extra $20 or $40 a week it costs to fuel up. For many that extra $20 or $40 WAS their discretionary income.
I understand that China and India are becoming major oil users, but this drastic rise seems fishy to me. China is pushing hard to remove the dollar as the reserve currency, if that happens we will see $8 a gallon gas immediately. The only reason we get “cheap” fuel is because the US dollar is the global reserve currency. Keep devaluing it……and it may come true sooner that we think.

Sad as that sounds....its just the way it works.

Sorry, I have clients in Japan, South Korea, China and Singapore and I hear another tune. It's worse over there. There currency keeps inflating and feel like they have a noose around their necks everyday.

They can spend all thay want on the miltary thats ok with me , just cut foreign aid, nobody likes us anyway so why support them, i would support the Aussies though they have always been with us after WW2.
I would just like to drill for oil here and tell the rest where they can stick there oil.

$2.13 for 87UN here. $2.93 for diesel. Wish I could repeat my trick of buying next summer's boat fuel now, at winter prices. One of those once-in-a-lifetime things.

Dang, stinking diesel here is still around 3.40...drives me crazy - diesel requires less refining. Completely driven by demand...

Diesel used to require less refining, until the EPA(?) required the sulphur content to be reduced (Low Sulphur Diesel, and now Ultra-Low Sulphur Diesel). That increased the processing quite a bit, while also removing the lubrication advantages of sulphur and thus putting fuel injectors at risk. I use a diesel fuel additive to restore the lubrication... for all I know, it's just sulphur in suspension.

Kinda like adding Tri-Sodium Phosphate (TSP) to your dishwasher after they removed phosphates from dishwashing detergent. Voila, clean dishes again!

I've been tickled pink the past few weeks when at the pump filling up my tool truck, filled up with diesel on Monday for $2.61, I hope it keeps going, keeping my wekly fuel expense down during slower time of the year. "Heck yeah."

Kind of makes me wonder what the government is trying to keep our attention away from. Prices going so low it's almost to good to be true.

Diesel is actually lumped into heating oil category now. That is the main reason it is so high. It still takes less refining the regular. I work in the marine oil transport industry and I have talked to many people about it at refineries. It is political crap if you ask me, but what do we do? Bitch and complain of course
