I paid 4.299 Saturday. For us here in Norcal, lwndr is right, I'd be HAPPY to pay $4 a gal in a few months.

It's not the $4 gas that will kill me, it's the $5 diesel because my lake is 55 miles away! Luckily I can store the boat at the lake so I won't have to tote the boat out there each time. I need another economy car so I can leave the truck and the boat at the lake and just run out there in the car instead.

The houseboat gas alone will probably be around $900 for the week + the Tigé and Jet Skis.

Being new to the Diesel market I am thinking it will cost more to get to the water than being on it. . I believe that these fuel prices are . But what else is new...

I went to Lake Powell in 2008 when gas prices were through the roof and we spent $2,500 or $2,700 in fuel between the houseboat, the 2 boats we took with us and the 2 trucks to get the boats and gear to the lake. We have a trip planned in June and I am already freaking out about it because when we planned it in January, it didn't look like fuel was going to skyrocket for no apparent reason...

I do believe if I had a buyer for my boat I would sell it.
I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....

I love how people like to say that the whole Libya thing affects oil prices and then they say that Libya is like, the fifteenth largest producer or some crazy thing like that. It makes me pull my hair out.

I tell the boys rafting takes twice as much fuel and there's only so much fuel for the day. The gas gauge will determine how long our days are this year.

                          I'm with Surfdad... $4 a gallon is a bargain.

I just got finished filling my tank at $4.34 per gallon at the local grocery/gas store.

The $4.00 per gallon will somewhat alter my time on the boat. But if all goes planed I may be moving into a house in Discovery Bay, and my boat will be on the water!

0 miles driving truck to the ramp = more $$ for gas and more time on the water....

                            but...

mortgage = less $$ for gas.

I guess I'll just have to see what happens.

The gas prices won't hurt the time out on the boat, but will stay closer to home to go boating. The lake I usually go to is a 70 mile drive to get down to. Now I will start boating on the river which I dislike because of how silty it is and the damn asian carp that have taken over the river.
