Moral of the story, it's good to wear baggy pants when wakeboarding with alligators. The baggier the better.
Baggy pants save teen from gator attack
ST. PETERSBURG TIMES--
St. Petersburg Police confirm a St. Petersburg teen narrowly escaped a gator attack because the gator bit his baggy pants instead of his leg.
The incident happened as Kendrick Williams, 17, walked home from work Monday night. He took a shortcut near a pond at the Reserve Apartments in south St. Petersburg, police said.
The teen had large holes in his pants as a result of the bite.
Florida Fish and Wildlife says they have not captured the gator. Also, this has not been classified as a "gator bite" just a "nuisance gator."
Residents have been warned that there is a gator(s) in the area living near and around the pond.
