WS Pro 485 - Clamp Adjustment

A while back I posted a question about moving my WS Pro 485 to the top of my tower - this was b/c it does not fit with the standard clamps on my factory Tige tower. With some help from Jason B, I ended up having a local fabrication shop fab a bracket. See pics below. The piece mounts directly in the speaker mounting holes, then he welded the original gear looking piece onto the new plate - moving the brackets out by two inches. This will allow it to fit on my tower. Cost me $95 for the plate, with black powdercoat finish.

Arrow in pic 3 shows the piece that he put on the bottom of the plate that sets right into the existing slots on the speaker.

The original tower on an 04 22v has cross pipes at the exact spot the 485 is to mount. See attached photo, although its not that great. Previous owner built a little T pipe that bolted to the plate in the middle of the tower, and it dropped the speaker another 3-4 inches or so. This new bracket eliminates that large drop.

Great job there. . Once hooked up, I bet hardly anyone would even be able to tell it is not stock.

Guys, just got it mounted tonight. I can't suck the clamp all the way closed - see pic. Is this gap okay, or should I order the different inserts?
