Grew up kneeboarding 41 now and still do it pretty much every time we take the boat out. I just do wake to wake jumps and surface spins. We have battles trying to knock each other off. Been close to a aerial 360 but not there yet. i think its one ofthe best things to start the kids out on. I got my daughter up at 5yrs old. she learned to wakeboard @9 She is 10 now but she still likes the kneeboard. I think its a great sport and love watching guys go off and do some of the big tricks.I ride the hydroslide kaos. I love this board its has HUGE pop and the softest landings I have ever had on a kneeboard.I wish it came with a double strap because Of my size I do stress the single. So I will put a double on it when the stock one wears out.

That fold down Bimini that store boards on top at 1:10 in the video link below is pretty awesome. Is that custom or a Supra thing?

It is the Z5 cargo bikini. It is a Supra thing but, I believe you can get them after market. They are super cool and Tige really should come up with their own IMO.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

I had the same board and found out my mother currenty sold it to a neighbor kid for a dollar. Said he wanted to buy it so his Dad would pull him behind their fishing boat. Only place I would rather have the board than on my wall as a memory would be in his hands, hope he enjoys it as much as I did!

I need to find a board to demo. I would like to give it a shot this year. What speed and length of rope do you use?

Would this be a very good board or am I being too cheap?

Honestly any board is better than no board at all. However, I quickly out grew the compression molded Hydroslide (plastic) in about 1 season. I founda factory blemished O'Brien lowrider on ebay for $125 shipped. The Obrien Lowrider is probably the best all around board that anyone can use. It doesnt have a hook for the handle, but with a little practice you will be boarding in no time. O'Brien is really good with their warranty and customer service too. I broke the Lowrider from stuffing the nose on a back roll, they had me send them a few pictures and they sent me a new board right away. I also called because mine didnt have a double locking strap and they sent out a double locking strap right away too.

HO has probably the toughest kneeboards on the market. I have landed in the flats on my Joker many times from 10' + many times and have never had a problem with it. But i am sure their customer service is paralelled to O'Brien's.

I would say start with what ever you want. but to get the most bang for your buck I would get a compression molded board (fiberglass).
