    Prop cavitation or Gears

My '97 2100 wt worked great for the test drive , but when I got it to the lake, our second run out seemed very different. When starting out the boat it took off, sputtered a couple times before it got to speed. l I turned a corner then it seemed to cavitate and I lost most of the power. Now it runs fine once its up to speed and going straight, but when its at a slow idle or turning a corner it chugs a bit and runs rough.

I put in a jar of STP fuel & carburetor fluid, but so far haven't seen any difference.

I can't understand why there would be any cavitation so I'm wondering if it could be a gear problem?

    Any help would be appriciated.

I talked to the previous owner and he told me to check the Automatic Transmission Fluid, it was down to the second last bar. I added 500ml and the boat worked perfectly. Just a heads up for other owners.

    cheers

Well it happened again, after 4 hours of usage the transmission fluid was low again. Must have a leaky gasket or something. For now I'll keep topping up the fluid until I get a chance to get the boat looked at. Is there anything I can do myself to rectify the problem ?
